About

WorkTheRoom started as my personal strategy to better business networking.

For nearly ten years, I have run a succesful bespoke software design business. However, during 2005 I started developing scalable products that were only profitable when used by larger numbers of customers. So we looked at business networking as a method to increase our customer database. We had heard from many clients that they were using it as an effective method to build their business. However, when i first started attending networking events, I was useless. I did not know what to say or do.

It took many months of research, or testing ideas and watching others. Gradually I created my own strategy and theory, and one day it all fell into place. I was now creating lots of new contacts and converting many into customers.  After sharing my new ideas with some of my customers, I realized that this theory worked for others too. So, WorkTheRoom.co.uk was setup to promote my tactics and to make revenue from this knowledge.

Then, after a year or presentations and training, we moved to WorkTheRoom Version 2.0. This added the knowledge of what happened ‘outside the room’ , prepartion, follow-up tools and tactics.

Now we finally realise our goal of WorkTheRoom 3. To deliver all this information and more through a membership website.

For a monthly, or annual fee, you can become a member of worktheroom.co.uk.  There will be new posts on many days of the week which will raise an issue or make a point. These will be following from the breakfasts and the people that I am meeting during that week. Most of this information may be public, but often some of the posts can only seen by WorkTheRoom Members.

Every week there will be one major presentation.  Each look at a particular issue of WorkTheRoom in greater detail.  The first section will look at the situation and the issues and be public. The second section, often only available to paid members, will look at tools,  tips and the tactics I have employed to deliver a solution.
